Puri Upuma

Like what you want to eat? We have all. If you're looking for something desi breakfast, a rich combination of freshly Frizzled Puri, sooji upma topped with spicy hot Ghuguni, can never fail to make you fall for it. Lick your fingers up, it tastes heavenly.

Idli Chatni/Sambar

This deadly combination is as favorite to us as puri upma. Light, fresh and a blast of flavors in the mouth gives a best start for the day.

Pakhal

If you are a foodie, Berhampur will suitably make your tummy happy. It's a worthwhile food capital with Odia food savours and a slight telugu twist in its cuisines. Amongst them, Pakhal is loved most. It's just fermented rice and best tasted when combined with Chuna Macha Bhaja, and Badi Chura with crushed garlic and red chillies gives you an earthy experience. There are many variations to it like; Basi Pakhala, Zeera Pakhaa and Dahi pakhala.

Nabat

A commonly found sweet dish in the markets of Berhampur. The dish is made up of jaggery and sugar used to make refreshing mocktails in summer. It is also used for making drinks in the festive occasions.

Aalu Chop / Singada/Gaari

Presenting another local Love, usually coveted for its rich taste. Come in and eat at any stall of Berhampur and it feels like the hot mashed potato balls coated with Besan, never tasted so good.

Poda Pitha

The delicious Pitha with crushed cashews, nuts and caramelized jaggery; has a special place in anyone who tastes it once. It's the godfather of all Pithas, savoured specially on Rajaw festivals. Berhampur knows the secret of this dish, that makes you drool over again and again.

Dosha

South Indian yet truly loved by the residents of the city is the special dosa. May it be breakfast or for evening cravings, dosa is with chutney and sambar never goes out of option.

Roll

Chhena Poda

It is the favourite sweet dish of Lord Jagannath and the residents of the city. It is a delicious dessert made of fresh paneer. Dish is roasted on one side bringing out the lovely aroma and a strong flavour.

Seugudulu

Crispy fried rings made of rice flour and sooji is a favourite odia tea time snack. You will find people enjoying it in every street food centre of the city.

Dhanu muan

Specially prepared on Dhanu sankranti, the auspicious cuisine has got its name from this festival celebrated in the Odia month of Pausa . It's a good crisp and crunchy ball made of popped rice and caramelized Jaggery. One could easily eat around December mid.

Ghuguni Chaat

Made up of a mixture of lentils, steamed yellow peas and regular Indian spices; the dust is very popular in Berhampur streets. It's the cheapest and most cherished. Serve hot and the hunger games won.

Satapuri Khaja

The Satapuri Khaja is a crispy and delicious melt in mouth deep fried Indian Puri. It gets its name 'Satapuri' the way the seven Puris are made; with maida and wheat flour Puri are alternatively stacked. For stomach filling, it has got grated coconut.

Pampada

It's the Indian wafer made up of spices and pulses paste dried up under sun's heat and then deep fried. Surprisingly tasty when it's combined with Dalma and steamed rice. But again, in Berhampur there's a difference in taste you would love. Try out.

Anta Pakudi

Hardened Pakodis, that can be stored for a long time will make your evenings great with a cup of special chai. It is a flavourful snack loved by every Berhampuriya. It is easily available at any store in the markets of Berhampur.

Chhena

Analogous to cottage cheese, made of water buffalo or cow milk by adding lemon juice to it and strained to form chenna. Cherished a lot and highly demanded by the people of the city to make various delicacies out of it.

Mutton Pulao

A spicy rice dish mixed with a variety of veggies, however the difference lies in the use of bay leaves, cinnamon and cloves for the nice aromatic smell and mouth watering taste that Berhampur offers.
